#007 - Garments and Other Frivolities
I had off today, woo! I go back tomorrow, bah humbug. Still, I had a good weekend. Tiffany came over and stayed the night and we ended up going shopping and having lunch at Outback Steakhouse. Not good for my desire to loose weight, but really delicious, especially since I got a Wallaby Darned and finally got the lone drink I had planned in July, some months late. Drinks now need to be planned due to the Metformin. (Which, let's be honest, I'm really bad at remembering to take.
After that we went to Toys r' Us where I bought a pressie for
princessstarr and then later Tiffany bought me a doll from the Bratzillaz line (I think it's supposed to rival Mattel's Monster High, but reminds me more of The Worst Witch or Harry Potter) because apparently a redheaded witch who loves to fly is irresistible. (That's probably not wrong.)
Then, of course, since we were there, I could not resist the lure of Jo-Ann Fabrics. In this case it was probably a very good thing, since I found a perfect pattern for the Birthday Plot! It was from a company I had never heard before: Burda. It's their 7880, a 1888 dress with a French bodice, bustle overskirt, skirt, and bustle. Sounds fantastic, right? $14.95 and I ended up paying $8.99. SCORE!
This, of course, meant that yesterday Granny and I ended up going through the material in the sewing room. I found two shades of blue gabardine that I thought would look nice, but I don't know if we have enough. I think tomorrow we may try to measure it out, since today Granny apparently trimmed the pattern without me. So what does this mean? YAY BIRTHDAY PLOTZ.
The GPToA (TM) Fund stands thusly tonight:
$100 in bills
$27 check from InboxDollars
$47 in rolled coins
For a current total of $174
Football (ie: Fulham) Update: No update. Still at #12, next game on Saturday v. Stoke City.
